FDA FSMA Inspectional Coverage in IMS-listed Firms
In response to discussions with the NCIMS Liaison Committee and Executive Board, please see the attached letter from both CFSAN and ORA leadership. Effective November 7, 2022, FDA initiated a national rollout for coverage of the Grade “A” Safety and the Preventive Controls and Sanitary Human Foods Operations Compliance Programs for all IMS-listed firms, to be done concurrently by the Milk Specialist during check ratings.
FDA Letter to NCIMS on FSMA Inspectional Coverage in IMS-Listed Firms
The link below is a FDA letter from Dr. Beth Briczinski, Senior Science Advisor for Milk Safety, CFSAN sent to Dr Stephen Beam, Chair, NCIMS regarding the addition of a two-scope approach to the current Appendix T audits that are performed by Milk Specialists in IMS-listed facilities, which will be effective July 31, 2022.
